there is a (correct) argument that can thread the needle being that the way lyon bowls isn't suited for many indian pitches on account of the topspin vs sidespin sort of thing that has been touched on

Not really imo, it's been touched on a lot, especially on this forum, and acknowledged by him as well. He's adapted and learned to go the other way on SC tracks but it obviously doesn't come as naturally to him.

i mean i don't think this necessarily disagrees with what i'm saying though? he's tried to adapt but as you point out hasn't mastered it to the extent he's mastered the art of bowling his preferred way back home

now it would be wrong to suggest that because of this he sucks or whatever some people have been saying but it's a hole in his game
