Always nice to see , we aren’t the only country with pathetic media ?
Actually it will be a wise decision to rest him in one of these tests. They have 5 Ashes tests and a WTC final to play where they don't want an exhausted Cummins. He is anyways not getting any help here from the pitches and so having to bowl bulk of the bowling with not much reward. Boland, Starc, Lyon and Murphy can be a fine line-up in his absence as well.

What you are saying is understandable but resting in 2nd Test of the series with series being live ?

He bowled one bad spell in the last game and bowled well outside of that lol. He's the best fast bowler in the world who just got MOTS in PAK taking wickets @21 on some of the deadest pitches you'll see with reverse swing, he doesn't need help from the pitch. We don't need him to bowl bulk overs either.

Australia aren't going to pack it in and hurt their own chances to do well in India just because they've lost the first test. The Ashes/WTC final are 4 months away, any rest now is almost entirely irrelevant to those games.

Hot take but I kind of hope Aus bowls first, regardless of conditions. Really feel like our best chance of getting a good foothold in the Test is blowing the Indian top order away early and putting real pressure on the lower order up front, and if we manage to turn India over on Day 1, we'll have a lot better chance of imposing real (reverse) scoreboard pressure on Jadeja et al

India pitches are a bit different to Pakistan's. Still, if that is the way to go, then yeah fine for him to play all the tests. But imo Lyon and Murphy are going to be much more effective than him here in this series.

He's literally the best pacer they have for India at the moment, with the only other one who has a better record being a retired James Pattinson. No need to go full halba here about Cummins.

Would be dangerous to take the first match and assume the rest of the series will play out the same way imo.

I think Murphy will struggle if it’s a slow turner like what we saw in the first test of the England tour. On the other hand Smith and co should find it easier to bat as well.

Cummins is going to have atleast one spell if not more where he's going to put India in a deep hole. Too good not to. Kind of showed he could do it in the previous test too, even though he didnt pick up many, he bowled a couple of really good spells after his terrible first one.

If it is a slow turner try kuldeep. Tempted to rest Ashwin but maybe he can replace Rahul. He will get 20 same as Rahul but also get wickets

Ha ha. Ashwin is not in ODI and T20 squads too now. Not a chance he will agree to be rested in this series. But yes, Kuldeep can actually instead of Rahul and bat at 9. He can get some troll runs too there like Shami and I bet he will get more than what Rahul will get.

Can't rest premier spinner in a live series. That's Englandesque bad application of workload management policy.

Yes, Jadeja can be treated as a specialist batsman and India can afford to play Kuldeep in place of KL without sacrificing much. But then 4 spinners are going to be overkill.
