I feel in modern era , Teams give up fight easily if they face huge first innings deficit or 4th innings target.

One of the reasons is over reliance on sweep, people keep bringing up Hayden/Cook/KP or even Root playing that shot. Well they never faced Jadeja/Ashwin with DRS on these surfaces, Root did but failed after one innings in 2021. Check SS or Rohit & how many sweeps they play? Sweep is a high risk shot on these surfaces, sure on Chennai first test 2021 or Ranchi 2017 it could work but not on these pitches!

You really need nerves of titanium to survive here & importantly put the last ball completely behind you, I'd argue eventually even SS will fail because no one else's standing up in the top order except him.

Murphy is a huge plus for Australia. Both teams should get strengthened further next match with Iyer for SKY and Green for Renshaw. So, the quality of cricket should be even higher.
