Yeah, the only batsman I like watching in the Indian team is R Pant (besides Jadeja). I am barely watching anything in his absence.

Yes. And these are the 2 best Indian batsmen on recent form on play here. Without Pant, it is Jadeja and then Rohit who have been good for India for the past years while the trinity consistently failed.

its not Kohli’s fault at all. its the selectors job to pick the best team and it isn’t on Kohli to make himself unavailable when he’s still not past his peak physically

i mean look at the scorecard. Ashwin a #8 only scored 4 less than our usual 3, 4 and 5 combined. its ****ing shameful when there are so many options waiting in domestic

this is the perfect situation for Pant, team down in trouble and needing a counter attacking innings to turn the tide. such a shame he is not here

kind off funny that the three selections or decisions we made prior to SKY based on mostly white ball records in Bumrah, Rohit and Axar have all worked so well for us. can only think of that as the reason why SKY was picked here

I think people on these boards overrate domestic runs Vs ODI runs as a reaction to a lot of selections that go the other way.

Yadav is probably at worst going to have a meh test career where he doesn't make as many runs as he should, like Yuvraj Singh or Jos Buttler. And there are plenty of big successes of a one day player coming good in tests, one of them's on 96* at the other end.
