India's lower order really hasn't done anything in this series to date, but Ashwin and Jadeja alone scored six half-centuries between them against England. Still a long way from securing a lead here, gotta break two more dangerous partnerships at least.

Lillee was too scared to tour India.
India wasn't worthy of having Lillee tour.

In fact, there wasn't an Australian tour of India when he was playing iirc.

I did used to enjoy watching him get Gavaskar out with a tomato though.

Pujara has put away nearly every single bad ball I think. There haven't been many but he's been onto them throughout the day.
Yeah, it hasn't really been a particularly defensive innings from him, has played shots all across the ground. Australia has just bowled really well for the most part and he just has rightfully not taken risks. The one little period of play when Rahane/Kohli were in and Australia was bowling a few too many looseners, he was striking at close to run a ball.

I know that. That was a casual comment though.

One in 79 which I think was impacted by WSC. No Chappells, no Lillee etc. Nothing other than that though, only one tour of India between 1970 and 1986 with the tied test.

Yknow, if you put de Kock into this Aussie side they become seriously formidable. The pace quartet, two good spinners, Handscomb and Maxwell shoring up the middle order, Renshaw and Warner up top, Steve Smith...

And you wanted to own Jaddu. Seriously, he should bat atleast at 8 every time. He has potential.
Can't bat Jaddu at 8 based on potential. Let him show something substantial for a while. If we're selecting sides on potential then Prithvi Shaw should be batting at 4.

Actually he probably would do better than Kohli in terms of actual results too.
