This is serious thought police stuff.

Are we going to say 'Kohli calls xyz a mother****er' just because he says madarchod while celebrating a wicket?
It's blatantly obvious that Smith was caught in the act though, and using explietives is fine as long as it is not directed at anyone in aprticular which is not the case here. There is a reason Smith apologized in the post match presentation because he himself realized that he let the emotions get the better of him at various points in the series himself.

The "cheat" thing is harmless. The Maxwell incident wasn't imo.

The only excuse people gave on here was that it might have been light hearted bants between friends but clearly Kohli didn't like it.

I'm pretty sure these players call each other far worse things than "****ing cheat" when they're out there in the middle.

I think it's all a culmination of whats happened in the whole series. Regardless I think everyones overplaying it. Kohli was obviously speaking more for himself and not the whole team I think with respect to the whole friendship thing, its his call if he wants to be friends with the Aussies or not.

If Vijay gets his groove back as well, I'm going to give India a 50-50 shot at beating the Saffers away this December. Holy ****. Why is it so far away?!
I think we can sneak a test, especially if SA's batting woes continue and Amla continues his decline.

Congratulations India, very well played. Came from behind to take the series. Although has to be said i had never thought Aus would play so well.

So well played both teams and keep the controversies coming :p

The fact that we have won the series should't distract the team from the fact that their fielding is an absolute disgrace by International standards.

Guys like Sehwag and Laxman weren't athletic but held on to their catches in the slip which is by far the most important constituent of fielding in test cricket.

I wonder if we have someone in Indian cricket who's both important and objective enough to give Kohli an intervention. I nominate Dravid.

Don't think Kohli was impressed with Smith calling Vijay a cheat up in the dressing room. Kohli's obviously very emotional as a person, but he's always been that way so idk why people are surprised. I'd rather have him speak his mind than make some dipolmatic comments anyways. As far as his batting form goes it'll be back up soon, he was due a failure anyways with the bat, love that we won despite him not scoring runs.
but wasn't vijay cheating there...clearly?

i get the everyone else part but wouldn't you as the fielder know if the ball was grassed or if it bounced before it went to hand...?

He would have to be an enormous idiot to repeat it, I feel doing it once made it pretty clear what it was supposed to be. There are n other ways to help your team compared to making fun of someone's injury.
Kohli is taking a lot of flak in this thread, I dare say most of that is because he failed as batsman in the series, but does one really expect him to take Australia abusing the DRS rules [Real or not,he felt that they were doing it, Smith was caught at least once and Australia's reviewing immediately went to the dogs after it was pointed out. ]. Or is it given that one should just laugh off the other teams player making fun of his Injury? or being called Trump in that nations media? or one of his team-mate being called a ****ing cheat by the opposing teams captain?

Everyone is just having a go at him because he failed, not because he lacked reasons for his words.
Yea, that's why I previously said he's sort of justified in what he has said.

Regarding his low scores, even against New Zealand, he failed in the first two tests (4 innings) and then scored a double! So its not too big a deal.

While he failed in the first two tests, in the 3rd, he was clearly injured/ hampered in his batting movement during his passive 30 ball stay, otherwise Im sure he would've made some contribution then on a flat pitch or in the last game where there was nice bounce, unlike the first two tests which had really difficult pitches.

And as good as Smith is, even he got just the 1 significant score in 4 innings of the first two tests on difficult pitches. After that, he won two tosses in thr 3rd & 4th game and had really friendly batting conditions to start with and capitalised like no one does. But in the 2nd innings of both of the games he let himself and his team down with the way he got out on both occasions. (Almost cost his team in the 3rd Test too). So basically everyone fails. Cricket is like that.

And it looks like by the time Kohli plays next, he will have been out for more than a month. I was personally really looking forward to them playing together- ABD, Kohli, Gayle and Watson.

It sucks he's ****ed his shoulder and even when he returns he may not be smashing the ball like before (when given the opportunity at times).

Ganguly riled his opponents up the right way. The real brain of Indian cricket. Kohli is becoming irritating, especially when he fails to back his words up.
