I don`t agree with this view, Burgey. His batting is much more important to the team than his fielding and captaincy which can be substituted. A day`s rest for his shoulder is immensely beneficial to the team. It would actually not have made sense if he was fielding again and then got injured again putting the team in jeopardy.

This sort of bone headed thinking doesn't win you matches though. He's taking advantage of the fact that he can bat wherever he wants to give himself maximum recovery time. Hardly anything to be gained from being out there.

Definitely not as much as we need his batting though. It was simply the practical thing to do.
