There's so many opportunities for genuinely good sledging and banter which get missed. Was very disappointed Smith didn't run with the "He wasn't out there long enough" line when Kohli's allegations were put to him in the press conference.

I do think the Aussies will use Kohli's comments to motivate them though. Like they did with ****ajan's before the first test.
Lol

That's the whole thing about most of the sledging I've encountered - most of it is puerile, pretty boring and some is downright embarrassing with it being a poor reflection on the intellect of the sledger

If more players were capable of picking their time and confining it to the type of comment you suggested, the game would be so much more enjoyable to play and observe.

Unfortunately, we're not dealing with mensa candidates in the main

ICC has cleared everyone of everything arising out of the second test, and ordered Smith and Kohli to hug it out with Richie Rich before the third.

They're not auditioning to appear with Stephen Fry. Kohli put Smith off to such an extent he sought assistance from the grandstand. You'd have to concede that India are pleased with the result and will try it again. Hopefully they get a **** storm in return. Well over entertaining India's dbl stds over sledging. Screw good relations and unleash the ugly Australian with an accidental touch of push and shove here and there.

My favourite part of that Ashwin to Renshaw sledge is that he said he would have them for 'soup and dessert', implying that their wickets weren't valuable enough to be considered for the main course.

WAG. You all just don't get it.

So much delusion.

Before the series everyone was praising Kohli to no end and what happened? He failed in inexplicable manner.

Now everyone is criticising him and calling him **** and saying he's hardly a top batsman and whats going to happen?

People were saying **** about Barcelona and assuming they were all but knocked out after 0-4 result in first leg and what happened Today? Miracle comeback.

Everyone was calling Aus **** prior to series and that its gonna be a walkover? And what happened next? Aus give India a 300 run thrashing.

Can you not seriously see the pattern of nature in action...

Tendulkar had been on a century spree and after Tendulkar's 99th 100, it was all about Tendulkar blah blah and what happened? He couldn't get another ton for more than a year.. stuck on 99.

People were egotistically calling Ponting as the best batsman and that he would easily break all of Tendulkars records and what happened next? The guy completely lost it in total inexplicable manner.. 100s vanished 70s 80s became his norm and soon after, he declined.

Play of nature.

After the first test, Aussies started to think too highly of themselves and of certain players like O'Keefe, and what happened next?

India were thinking too highly of themselves prior to series especially of their batting (after some incredible scores against England) and what happened next? 100 all out, 100 all out, and 189 all out.

All the talk with regards to spin bowling prior to series was about Ashwin Ashwin blah blah and what happened? He turned out to be one of the biggest flops. Lyon bowled miles better than him.

Nature plays. It elevates your Egos and then crashes it down, sometimes ruthlessly. Its what it does all the time in all fields in all aspects.

People were ridiculing & hating Trump and saying all sorts of stuff about him and assuming he would badly lose and what happened next?

I can go on and on with numerous examples of how nature operates.

1983 world cup final. West Indies thought too highly of themselves and were assuming that they were going to win their 3rd world cup on the trot and after India were bundled out for 183, they were way over the top, fans were already celebrating and what happened next? India bowled WI out for 140 odd.

So many instances where the play of nature is so strongly evident yet we go on thinking that its 'we who did it, and its we who are sooo good, we can do anything, and that its all under our control'. BS. Its all a play of nature.

CenturyMaker, if a butterfly moves its wings at the SCG, will there be a tempest in Bangalore?

All is one. Duality is an illusion. So everything is inter-connected.

If thousands of people are saying/feeling the same thing, they are indirectly influencing the outcome. Its all a combination of skill + effort + luck/destiny/collective consciousness.

The collective consciousness has a huge say on any matter. Because all thoughts and their resulting actions originate from it.

You cannot perform an action without a thought behind it that motivates that action.

And we have little control over the thoughts that initially arise in our mind, although a sharpened intellect can then help discern what thoughts are useful and what are not.

But particularly in a game like cricket where you have very little reaction time, you have no time to make calculated thoughful decisions. Its quick and instinctive based on your previous training. And if luck is not on your side, an impulsive or a clouded thought could ensue a rash stroke or even a misjudgment leading to your dismissal. There could also be an umpiring blunder... so many external factors affecting "your" personal success..

We cannot really control thoughts, rather the thoughts control us!
