Can't knock them for that tbh. At least they're giving themselves as big a chance as possible with their preparation.but they've been working so hard in dubai

Agreed. Don't really see the point of having 4 match or 5 match series between countries that are poor away and dominant at home as the series is usually well decided by the 2nd or 3rd Test. And thus the 4th & 5th Tests become redundant/pointless and usually turn out to be big thrashings..3 tests should've been the max.
Glad we've sorted that out. The only team allowed to tour should be SA. The rest can stay at home and play with themselves, which is apt in a lot of cases.Agreed. Also a shorter series gives the away team a better chance of having success as they don't have to compete for as long.
For example, last time when India was in England, after 3 Tests it was 1-1, and the series till that point had been quite competitive but after that it was an absolute no-contest ..in the last two Tests.. Similar thing happened with England when they were in India.. it went from good to bad to worse to a total disaster due to the needless extra one-sided Tests..
When India is in Aus or Aus in India..we see similar outcomes.
The more the Tests the better the chance of the home team winning the series, if not absolutely dominating it.. So really to bring back some hope for away teams to win the series, it really should be 3 Tests more often than not.

Nah **** that. If you want to be taken seriously, you gotta compete seriously.Agreed. that 2000/01 series was a great oneHe has a point tbf. I'd rather watch paint dry than WI play 5 in Australia for example.
TV deals work themselves out these days and make sure that mismatched teams don't play long series against each other. He has a point tbf. I'd rather watch paint dry than WI play 5 in Australia for example.
So Wade is net batting but can't be bothered keeping. Cruel to have the spinners practice with an actual keeper when they will have a chair during the actual test matches. It does send out a message about the priorities of his role.Glenn Maxwell came in at No.5 but didn't stay long – he came down the wicket to Steve O'Keefe and was stumped in a tidy bit of work by UAE wicketkeeper Saqlain Haider, who was filling in for Wade. Haider filled in for the Australians in their 2014 tour match in nearby Sharjah against a Pakistani XI, and donned the gloves again today with Wade rested from keeping duties for this match. Wade remains on track to take the gloves in the official tour warm-up match in Mumbai next week, and warmed up with the team before heading to the nets when the match started.
A little smart arseness there RH. I tried looking for him and it is listed in the FTP but nothing appears to be confirmed.......at least that I could find, so a legitimate question to ask IMO.
It's funny, because my gut also says that Aus wont disgrace themselves like they have on the sub cont in recent years......but I can't for the life of my think why I'd be thinking that?i have a surprisingly good feeling about this for australia touring india
