Shamida started off nicely with the new ball, and worked up some pace - not as much as Masher, but still decent, and got a little movement that took out three of their top order. Good stuff indeed. Not so good that he bowled only two overs afterwards, when he could have been wiping the tail- he also missed two overs of his quota, with at least nineteen overs of utter rubbish from the spinners.

Very good opening spell, hitting good areas, bit of movement, 135-140ks consistently. When he came back for the second spell (just the one over) he lost quite a bit of pace, but he didn't bowl short which was nice to see. Final over was good, pace back up to 140, the one short ball got dispatched to the boundary but iirc he managed to spear in at least 4 yorker (or thereabouts) length deliveries.

Shamida's eight overs in this game are a vast improvement over his 11 dire ODIs till date. Can only be good news. But is he yet another Indian seamer who struggles with an old ball? Hope not.

I'm not sure which of Vinay and Noddy should be dropped for the next game to fit Bhuvi. Vinay's got a good strike rate of 30, but that economy is poor, and he's also very under-powered. Noddy's comeback game wasn't so good, but he's one of the best domestic/reserve OD bowlers available, so he may get the next game, and hopefully, the whole series. At least one spinner (I'm not pinning down which one) not named Yuvraj should make way for Mishra. Those twenty overs of spin are a soft spot and sooner someone's found, the better.

After criticizing India's dire bowling performance in the middle overs throughout his stint in the box, Ganguly's mid innings verdict is that India couldn't have done much about it. Reckon a BCCI official threatened him on the way down to the field.
Dada does wtf he wants.

Re: Ganguly's mid-innings verdict, he was right. They couldn't have done much about it, when they are stuck with medium-pacers and flat slow bowlers, on unresponsive pitches.

Missed the innings.

Seeing Shami Ahmed got 3 wickets with decent Economy.

How did he bowl overall ?
I caught a bit of his spell. He looked very good. He was getting some big outswing at times and the pace was up to 143kph.

Predicting a cancelled match here and India winning 2 to 1 for Australia in the next 3 matches.. And then people commenting on how 3-3 is a very fair result considering how close the series was fought..

Btw, India's catching was a farce today. Cricinfo doesn't even mention it, apart from reporting it in a matter-of-fact way.

Check 49.6 and the innings summary after that. They explain it in quite a few lines. How much more do you want them to say that?
