It was more the fact that he drove without getting to the pitch of the ball tbh. He should have either stretched out more or taken a step down the wicket.

I don't think he meant to drive it, he was definitely gearing up to sweep/slog sweep that one, but he realized maybe it wasn't quite the right ball so he tried sort of a half drive at the last minute.
