Isn't Ishant injured though? I swear I thought he was going to get his ankle or whatever his injury is get looked at.

also WTF why is DINDA in the squad? Wow our attack is so **** lol. Might as well pack in 4 spinners again.

Also Vijay getting selected sucks, dude has technical issues, unless he sorts those out he's not a long term prospect.

Saw an article saying how only 4 of the Australians have experience in India. I assume that means tests because I'd be suprised if the others hadnt at least played some IPL.
No, I'm pretty sure that includes IPL, assuming we're talking first choice. Can't recall Cowan, Khawaja, Wade or any of our bowlers save Siddle and Johnson (who presumably isn't first choice) playing in India.

I really liked what I saw from Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

I mean I agree with Dhoni that he won't be effective once the ball stops swinging, but it's not like Dinda and Ishant will be either.

It does sound that way. "Not being effective when the ball stops swinging" does imply being effective otherwise, which sounds priceless for an Indian seamer right now

Yeah it'd be like Pakistan leaving out Ajmal because he's not effective when he's not turning it.

Bhuvi Kumar is a swing bowler; that's the point. When you've got three spinners and a specialist old ball fast bowler playing, you don't need that fifth bowler to be anything more than threatening with the new ball, and he will be.

Siddle debuted in India. I would be surprised if Johnson hasn't played there. At least in short form. In fact, he would have been part of the WC squad wouldn't he?

Edit: is Johnson in the test squad? Cbf looking it up.

Clarke, Watson, Siddle and MJ were the 4 listed with previous experience in India. IMO MJ isn't first choice so assuming Watson plays 8 will need to acclimatize to the conditions.

Johnson played in both the '08 and '10 tours. He was one of the best bowlers for Australia on the '08 tour (Watson was the best), getting reverse swing consistently. Didn't do much on the '10 tour IIRR.

Just checked. You're right, I'd forgotten. Also he'd averaged 40 on the earlier tour. But I remember him bowling really well.

Most of them would had been over there with Academy tours.

Harby's got a great record against Oz so I think he's worth the punt. Apart from Clarke I'm not too convinced abt the rest of our order's ability against spin. Our ineptness might make a hero out of Harby yet.
