*Official* Australia in India 2010

To all those complaining that the game is heading for a draw, you do know Australia could easily have been 3 down. I'm sure nobody would be commenting on the draw if that was the case.
Indeed. Plus, it would be unlike Ponting over the last year to declare for more than 550.

Restate: loving the running. Been most excellent apart from one hairy Watto moment.

Prefer a little bit more zip in my pitches but otherwise a decent first session. Could have been a completely different game had Indian held on to the catches

atleast with the Indian batting you know you are in the game till the oppo reaches 500 if this was Pakistan at 100-1 I would have declared game over.

In all fairness it's rough blaming the curators for this one. They didn't exactly have ample time to prepare. And as said the Indians can only blame themselves for not being in front.

The best Ponting innings he's played in India was the counter attacking one in 1998 in the 2nd test, Aus were 4 down for 40 or 50, Srinath got Slater and Blewett in the first over of the test match, Ponting was batting six then, he really went after Kumble and looked really good for his 50-odd. Didnt end up helping as we got thrashed, actually thrashed is the wrong word.

I'd take 450 tbh.
With this start, they should get there, tbh. The forecast looks perfect so there's no great rush and you don't want to give this Indian line-up less than 400 to chase or they'll put up 700.

Not laying the blame anywhere, I understand the situation but I just prefer more lively pitches with lots of bounce. Think it provides for a lot more entertaining cricket

Be happy if we just batted on til tea tomorrow. This so is not a declare at 450 deck.

Assuming we make it htat far of course.

Ponting after a break of late has been soooo vulnerable. Come on skipper!!

Think the sun must be drying out the pitch and making the ball come on a bit better, that on-drive you wouldn't try if it was holding up.

India in real trouble. Zaheer and Harbhajan look short of a gallop too.

Never declare in your first innings in India

That's the innings where you need to score the vast majority of your runs

Cash in, boys

Ojha looks impressive doesn't he? Only thing I maybe would like to see is him slow it down a little. Jack Mac to comment.

50 to Punter. Played Sir.

Really good 50 by Ponting, he's gonna get a century here, no doubt in my mind. Sharma will still be kicking himself now.
