We have scraped through our fair share as well - Pak in Syd, India in Syd (although both are tainted for different reasons), South Africa at home where Smith batted with a dud arm.

That said, Australian Test matches for the past two years have been more exciting then Test matches involving any other nation - that is a fact.
Past 10-15 years TBH. That's why Australia are always the biggest draw, rankings be damned.

Gutted really. After being only 2 wickets from victory this is terrible. An attack that let's a tailender like Sharma survive that many balls has to look at itself. Yes they were great altogether but when we should have really tightened the screws we let the runs accumulate.

Great innings by Laxman. Bevanesque-ass-saving innings.
Yup, must be a bitter pill for you Aussie fans especially considering you seemed home & hose when the 8th wicket fell. That's two recent nail-biting finishes by India against both SA & now Australia, and to think we say Indian wickets are boring.

Yeah absolutely guttered. Really felt after a see saw battle for the last five days we had this at 8 down. No credit to Laxman or Sharma as we just got heaps unlucky with some poor bowling and captaincy decisions.

Sarcasm or not, this is one of the worst posts ever.

Didn't see the lbw decisions of Gambhir and Ishant Sharma eh?

 As if you can what I said seriously.

On a serious note, was that LBW at the end out or did he hit it? I threw the remote at the wall and turned the tv off after the final runs were scored.

But Ishant wasn't and was given out at such a crucial point in the game. I think it all evened itself out by the end of the game.

Whatever it takes!!!
This match showed how close the sides are, and if India come out of this series with a 2-0 win looking like world beaters I will be seriously miffed. They are a good team, but they are not deserving of a concrete no. 1 ranking. It is obvious that there is little to choose between India, Aus, and SA.
TBF, I don't think many will say we are the CONCRETE #1.. Just that we happen to have our noses ahead of RSA and Aus at the moment.. We should really add England in there too actually...
