Oh dear. How often does the innings fall to pieces in the third powerplay?

Kylez

State Vice-Captain
Another dire shot, this time it was from Harris. Thats the last decent batsmen gone so don't expect Tait and Bollinger to hang around long.

Thought that was going down leg when I saw it live. Will be interesting to see some replays.

Shout out to Richard as I realise Nick Knight is commentating.

Better ODI player than Gilchrist, it must be said.

Smith unlucky there, looked to be tailing down live too.. Bad batting performance from our blokes here, just some terrible shot selection.

King Pietersen

International Captain
Bowled Jimmeh. Nice to see some proper death bowling at last. Definitely prefer this to the banging it in half way rubbish. Good performance that. Can get on and watch the F1 now.

Whoever's in front 20 laps in will win. What's the attraction? Genuine question btw.

I mean, I can watch it, but it seems the least exciting as a contest of all motor sport.

Has been very eventful today, to be fair. Mainly thanks to an incredible accident that Webber somehow walked away from.

Yeah this series has been a real struggle for our boys, I can't quite understand why it has been so ordinary - these guys don't become poor cricketers because of a month off, but a few of them (and key blokes, to be honest) are really struggling.

We'd have to be the nation that struggles the most playing spin bowling I reckon - certainly in one day cricket, we seem to be able to either score quickly and lose wickets or score slowly and keep wickets in hand against them. We need to find a happy medium or we might struggle come WC 2011.

Steve Smith got a bit of a stinker though it must be said. Can't see Bollinger and Tait having been able to offer any support.

Big effort needed from the bowlers - wondering who will take the new ball, surely Tait would have to, but the first time in a while we've had 3 genuine new ball bowlers in the side for a while.

Could be Tait and Harris for mine.

Yeah so I gather, but how often do you see the amount of overtaking and close racing you do in other classes? It's just a personal thing. Don't get me wrong.

The cars are things of beauty, and the drivers remarkably skillful. I'd just like to see how they go when they have to pass each other more than once every race!

An excellent performance from Eng - they were professional, summed up the conditions perfectly and fielded brilliantly

As for Australia, as Cricinfo's headline states, they were spineless

The only players to emerge with any credit, IMO, was young Smith (who was sawn off after playing with no trouble) and Paine

Watson gave his wicket away yet again as did Ponting and Clarke

When 3/4 are supposedly some of the world's best players and perform like they did today, I can forgive the others

Swann is just amazing. Thought we'd be chasing something over 300 after Paine got stuck in, but wow, this England side is looking great. Wanted to see us set a target though, would've given a better indication on how good we've come to terms with the format.

Yep, I agree, totally. I usually just watch the start and then switch off. I just watched a bit more today because Watto was out. :)
