It'd be interesting to find all the comments (not from you I imagine) saying Aleem Dar was one of the best if not the best umpire around at the moment.

About 2 days ago a bunch of Aussies were suggesting that he ought to be umpire of the year.

Usually you reserve your oiliest vitriol for Bucknor.

I have to say I like Brett Lee a lot more after watching this series than I did beforehand.

i dont think you do, its just an illusion cause hes having a go unlike most of the aussies who are taking their spot or granted...
buts he definately not doing anything different personally...

Dar is generally a very good umpire. It's unfortunate I suppose that his few mistakes came at relatively crucial stages of the game. I don't really think there's much point in getting angry at the umpire - he is, after all, the last person on the field who wants a wrong decision to be made.

According to Richie the recountng of the over is within the rules for this particular series, so the third umpire was right to intervene. You can all wipe the spittle off your chin now.

Vaughan's fielding has improved a lot since last I saw him, which is to say he's not very good. That was a good stop though - the cameraman followed it right through to the would-be boundary.
