Should Clarke play his natural game against Giles, or play to the situation of the game. I say he should be a bit more conservative.
He should just play sensibly. There's no need to try and score quickly, and above all he needs to take the approach that if he doesn't score for a while, he's winning rather than standing still, because there's less and less overs to play. He shouldn't set himself on blocking every ball though, at least not with over 40 overs left to play. That's a recipe for distaster.

Ponting's been perfect really... no risks, but he still puts the bad ball away, exactly how a master in this situation like Border would have done it.

That's one of the worst "that's got to be out!" calls ever from Greiggy (and there's some stiff competition out there). It pitched an absolute mile outside leg stump.

Very good century from the captain, and much-needed. Who'd have thought we'd get our first in the second innings of the third test?

Lots more work to do though. Come on, Ponting, keep going.

I'll be ecstatic if we can crawl out of this with a draw. Really, the difference between being 1-all and down 2-1 (which I'd resigned myself to completely before the third day washout) is just huge.
