None of the Aussie batsmen have played the bowlers well, so that really isnt saying much.

As "tooextracool" just said, our batting only starts at Warne.
The point is though, that he has. The 91 was excellent, and he was very good in the fourth innings at Edgbaston, played a very mature innings in difficult circumstances and it took an incredible ball to get him out. It's no coincidence that he's the leading Australian batsman statistically in the series, and the closest one to that elusive century.

I am just going too enjoy this while it last england look so superb, i dont know how much it is down too australia being under par but it is just wonderfull too watch. Simon Jones is quickly developing into a world class bowler and freddy already is a world class bowler. Harmisson not at his best today but showed at lords what he can do and giles is having a great time, the only bowler not doing well is hoggard. This compares too the australians who have 3 brilliant bowlers but at the moment that is not enough. I am however very sure that the Australian batsmen will improve maybe as soon as the second inings of this test and england must must turn the screw now that they are on top

its gotta be said, that during that flintoff-jones partnership, there was a point amongst all the misfields where it seemed like the australians had almost resigned to their fate and just going through the motions. in the 13 years or so that ive watched cricket, ive never actually seen an aussie side playing with such an attitude

What a day at OT, its was full of mixed emotions for me, just superb cricket. I was hoping for the best Australian batting performance of the series but i saw some superb bowling form England who got all the batsmen out with good deliveries. When Clarke came into the ground he looked pretty bad & myself & other club memebers were asked to give him a few throw down but the way he looked i was surprised that he got out

I have been watching all this intensity on TV over the 1st 2 test & seeing it was just superb, this England side is just superb & this is the big difference from this series to different ashes series of the past is that they aren't any easy balls coming Australia's way every....... single ball that Harmy/Freddie/Hoggy/Gilo & Jones is bowled with the so much spirit & intensity of ``Wanting to win the ASHES`` & i dont think Australia is used to that kinda intensity againts England. Anyway England are well on top, the aussies look down i can tell u all that during the afternoon session all the players were stuck in the dressing room & didn't even come out :-O if they are to get back into match they will have to 1st get pass the follow on & they have to bowl England out for nothing more than 150 & look to chase 375.Even that would be too much, Australia are truly up againts it....

One other telling factor i suppose you all saw on TV that Australia haven't been foced to follow on since 1988  & now England have them on the verge now that something.

more simon jones actually, hes got a wicket several times with the first ball of his spell this series. martyn at Lords, so nearly Clarke at Lords, gilchrist today and also ponting just after tea. which makes vaughan not bowling him at edgbaston on the 4th day seem even more bizarre.
Hoggard's done it at least twice.

I agree with that. For me there is too much negativity on this board instead of appreciation for quality cricket. I couldn't believe critscising Katch instead of praising Flintoff for a sensational spell of bowling. Flintoff was swinging the ball both ways at very high speed aswell as getting bounce on agood lengh. After drinksKatich doesn't play at the ball and gets bowled. Conversly if he plays at one of the away swingers, that pitch in the same position, before drinkschancers are he edges it gets caught and blamed for playing at a wide delivery.

yea that spell form Freddie that Katich out was superb use of the reverse swing, i guess what Wasim Akram thought Freddie when he used to play for Lancashire has finally come to use.....

I don't think it's out personally.
when i saw it at the ground this morning he looked out & looking at the replay at the ground at the time & on TV just now, pretty sure that was out.

I haven't a clue. The umpires have both had shocking games.

Anyway, whether it was out or not, it was a ridiculous shot from Bell.

Ahh Was I do miss him & Waqar ripping us to bits. Before every Pakistan tour they would come to England divided & dissjointed then Bothan & or Lamb would come out in the press and say how much they cheat (picking the seam bottle tops etc). This would unite & fire up the Pakistani's who would then thrash us. Those were the days.

Remember all those years ago when it was said reverse swing could not be done legally?

Seems like Australia will lose this ashes series and with that their domination will be over.

I think England and India will be the new force in Test cricket.
