Yes, the Poms have had some luck, but we should have taken the chances we got. Nobody to blame but ourselves in that regard.

No-one else mentioned it yet, but a well earned fifty for Bell, England should really get 500 - 4 proper batsmen left they should get 150 extra between them.

You think England will be bowled out for under 450? Or do you mean the margin between the two teams on first innings?

50 up for Bell. I don't think he's done that well up to this point, but Justin Langer had a similar baptism of fire back against the Windies in '93 (he was in and out of the team from that point, but obviously he proved he had what it took to succeed in international cricket eventually).

Pietersen is gone for 21. Still think 500+ is on the cards? If Freddie gets firing tomorrow, maybe. I think they'll send Hoggard out, though.

That dismissal was truly brain dead, if he wants to get caught on the boundary in this situation he should make sure he gets a big hundred first.

England out for 450, I think. Luck's bound to run out soon (as seen by KP's wicket just now :( )...plus there's heavy rain forecast for Saturday, so could be a draw. Certainly trust England's bowlers more than NZ's anyway.

Btw, England passed the New Zealand "record" - but fell four short of the one set eight years ago
