I told people to wait for the Aussies to bowl on this deck before drawing conclusions.............

Funny what happens when you just hit a line and stick to it; Brett Lee take note.

Bad news for England; generally when McGrath goes past a milestone of some sort, he's in such a good mood about it, he bowls magnificently.

BTW what do we reckon about Ponting chirping at Vaughan when he came out to bat? He certainly had a lot to say for himself, so what's his problem today?

Does anyone know why Brett Lee bob's his head after the first couple of paces of his run up? I never understood why he did that, I think Hoggard does it as well.

Maybe getting smacked in the head has something to do with it?

The Aussies batted poorly. Should have curtailed the rash shots in the first session of the test match. The pitch or England's batting or Australia's bowling does not discount that fact. Australia likes to play the shots but they went for too many shots too early even by their standards early on.

Funny how some commentators are questioning the quality of the pitch. You were saying, Scaly?

Is it really such a bad deck? We all know McGrath can bowl magnificently on almost anything, and he's using the Lord's slop beautifully. And England have batted hopelessly against Aus all summer, so this isn't a huge surprise, and I don't see that it makes the pitch a big factor.
