*Official* Australia in England T20s and ODIs

Would it not make sense for them to take the Power Play about now?

Got to do something to break the shackles and means England have to bowl Swann either during the PP or at the death.
Yep, surely the time to take the powerplay. We would just be able to take Swann off and bowl the quicks, but at least it would allow Australia to get Swann out of the attack.

Once again Australia struggles with spin in the middle overs. I thought they would have put that to rest by now.

**** me Australia really have lost the plot recently when it comes to ODIs. This is just so, so frustrating to watch as an Australian supporter. Just confirming everything Gelman and co. have been ranting about, especially in terms Michael Clarke. If you're the captain of Australia, with 150+ games under your belt, you'd think that if you were coming in in the 25th over, you'd be ****ing able to be striking at more than 65 by the time the 40th over rolls around. This really looks like a 280+ pitch, but at this rate we'll be lucky to crack 250.

SO painful from Clarke. Looks so much like a 300 pitch, no pace in it at all. Worried for Lee and Johnson, mainly Lee. :(

EDIT: Just seen Rashid's figures. You are having a laff.

Excellent, they're going to let us bowl our best ODI bowler both in the powerplay and at the death, because they'll be at the same time. Awesome.

Clarke is scared of taking some risk or what? Aussies still have players like Hussey, Hopes, Johnson to come...

Hmm Colly bowling in the powerplay.

Depends on the batsmen really, if they just slog to leg it's difficult for Colly to actually bowl anywhere other than perfect yorkers, the sort of length for off-cutters to take would be very dangerous.

Colly needs to have a word with himself, getting Clarke out could cost us about 20 runs. Still think Oz have enough already though, with our batting line-up.....

The sad thing is with this England batting line up, I'm pretty sure anything over 250 will be beyond us.

Owais Shah can't make the ground...helps if you are faster than a milk float

Shah will score a quick 50 to frustrate you all......

Just like how Bell and Broad did it in the tests! :D

My thoughts too. 2 or 3 early wickets and we could fold for something very embarassing indeed.
Think us losing early wickets is guaranteed unfortunately. Any ODi side with Strauss, Bopara and Prior making up the top 3 is going to struggle. I can't see us chasing more than 240, which is going to be a good 20 less than the score the Aussies will make.

Strauss just giving them singles is allowing them to get to 9 or 10 an over with ease because there's inevitably been a boundary ball or a good shot in an over. Not wise cricket from England really, although it can be difficult in a PP tbf.

How bad have Oz's tactics and Clarke's batting been?

Fair play to Eng in that they've adapted well to the conditions but Oz's thinking has been truly ****e

To compound things, it look like they're sending in Hopes next whom everyone that has seen anything of Oz cricket knows, cannot hit

If these are our next captain and coach, we truly are ****ed

What was Prior doing there when Ferguson reverse swept? moved to leg??? Have seen plenty of keepers adjust to a premeditated shot like that before, not saying he would have stopped it but he might have

I thought Lee would have come in instead of Hopes with only two and a half overs left.

The Aussies may well have too many for us here, but this has been a thoroughly English ODI batting performance from them.
