Yeah indeed. It was keeping low about once every three overs, and it was so slow that there was plenty of time to adjust anyway. It's not like it wasn't keeping low much more than in the first dig, so that's just a bad excuse.

Their fans know it too.

Really hope White finally makes a big score tomorrow. Just makes the middle order so much more powerful when he's in good touch. As gun as Ferguson has been in his ODI career thus far, Clarke/Ferguson/Hussey... you have three fairly similar players there.

EDIT: Apparently that was Binga's 200th ODI. Thought he'd played a lot more than that.

Shakib Al Hasan: "We did not bowl well. You cannot chase 270 in this wicket. The ball was keeping low, it was hard to chase.

Kevin O'Brien : "When we were 111-5, I said to myself we could have just pottered around and got 220 off 50 overs for eight or nine and the game would have been pretty boring to watch. But I just chanced my arm and said I was going to be as positive as I can and got a few away and didn't look back."

Therein lies the difference.
Couldn't have put it better myself. Never know what can happen if you get a roll on. I mean, at 5/111 chasing 300+, Ireland should have been dead.

Such a lame excuse, clearly you could score 270 (Aus had just done so), just had to be good enough!

Surely White's last stand today. Kinda a little pointless carting Ferguson around with you everywhere if you aren't going to give the bloke a chance to bat...

He (Shakib) should have just fortified the innings if he knew 270 was too much. Bangladesh have form for not bothering to chase, they did that in the WC opener against India and in the Asia Cup against Pak. Shakib is a terrible captain and under him Bangladesh play gutless cricket.

i expect him to be recalled for the 3rd match, after a good performance in the nets

Agreed. Has such a negative attitude.
Bangladesh desperately need a psychologist or 2... IMO

I'm a big Shakib fan as a player, but i agree he's too much of a wannbe nice guy and gives up faaaaar to easily. They really could put up a fight now and then if they had a tough captain who forced them to give their best.
Dropping White now is a good move, i like White and think he deserves another chance but the next Australia series is a long way away and Fergo definitely needs a chance to see what he can bring back to the table.

Good start by the Bangers.

EDIT: But an even better jinx. Fine catch. Much improved slipper is Watson, may start rating him as one soon.

It is inconsequential that Kayes averages above 30. He has a career SR of 65, that's Simon Katich bad and it is no longer 1992. No one other than Tim Paine bats that slow nowadays up top.
