**Official** Australia in Bangladesh

Unless Symonds plays a respectable innings against South Africa, I`d like to see Watson take his spot against Bangladesh, to see how he goes. In fact, I`d love Symonds to prove us all wrong starting tonight, but you can`t have everything. :D

dalm, thats really unfortunate, i didn't hear that anywhere. If both him & Kasper are out i'd expect Johnson to get called into the test side & probably Dizzy to come back which would be very good.

Lee, Bracken, Clark may even be enough for a two-test series against Bangladesh. Surely they'll play both Warne and MacGill in the sub-continent and Symonds/Watson can play as the third seamer if neccessary.

I'd expect Jaques to be called up if Langer misses, and Bracken and Gillespie if Kasprowicz and Tait are both unavailable. Australia will name replacements for all injured players as long as they are ruled out before the series starts.

Johnson is a possibility, but I would be surprised if they gave him a call-up with guys like Bracken and Gillespie waiting in line without him at least performing in some ODIs beforehand. Bracken will be going anyway for the ODI series, so he is the obvious choice.

Bangladesh 'A' play Sri Lanka 'A' in the first 'ODI' of three in Bogra tomorrow. 'Test' series was drawn 0-0 after two games, with Jehan Mubarak smashing the Bangladeshis all over the place and Enamul in the wickets in both games. Anyone who gets runs/wickets in the OD series might have a decent chance at an ODI callup, but Bangladesh seem to have quite a stable squad now.

Considering Watson isn`t in the Test Squad, I`d go.

Langer (if not fit, Jaques)
Hayden
Ponting
Martyn
Hussey
Symonds
Gilchrist
Lee
Warne
Bracken (if a turner, MacGill)
Clark

And I`d give Bracken the use of the new cherry. I think he could be vital in the Ashes. On the Gabba and on the SCG he often swings it a mile, and giving him the use of the new ball could be very helpful. I know Clark would be great with the new ball also, but he`s so good at keeping it tight, and Australia don`t have many other bowlers like that.

I have a feeling that if Langer isn't fit, Hussey'll open and Clarke will come into the middle order.

i doubt it, Hussey would probably open and Clarke would come in - leaving Symonds in his spot at the moment.

Yeah, but Jaques will still be called up, even if they intend to have Hussey open. I mean, MacGill, Tait and Clarke got picked for the whole SA series without playing a match.

[Biased Queenslander mode on] Jaques may have started the recent domestic season on fire, but he didn't finish it too well and therefore should not be an automatic selection. Jimmy Maher just finished the Pura Cup final with a double century, he is the in-form opener in the country at the moment and therefore should get picked if Langer is unfit for the tour.[/Biased Queenslander mode off]

Jason Gillespie, Phil Jaques and Mitchell Johnson have been called up to replace injured trio Michael Kasprowicz, Justin Langer & Shaun Tait

Looks like Gillespie has a chance to get his revenge on BD. I bet he had nightmares after getting hit for 6 and losing the match.

He'll definitely want to make amends.

Jaques has a pretty good chance of cashing in agianst the BD bowlers. Anyone whos seen his 94 on debut knows what he's capable of. I think he hit like four consecutive 4s of Dale Steyn.

Could be a sorry sight for BD if he was to repeat something of that sort again.

I'm getting increasingly apprehensive of how BD's gonna perform. I hope they don't crash and burn like they did in England or in Sri lanka as of late.

But no matter how much I try I just can't picture them putting up a fight against Aussies or their batsmen being able to put up with Warne, McGill and Lee and Clarke with their current bowling form.

My team to play Bangladesh

Jacques
Hayden
Ponting
Martyn
Hussey
Clarke
Gilchrist
Lee
Warne
Clark
MacGill

Two spinners should play in Bangladesh.

Four bowlers should be ample.

Symonds doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the Test team.

Hussey doesn't look all that convincing at the top of the order - keep him in the middle order.

Clarke should be allowed to stake his claim for the Ashes.

Jacques deserves his chance.

That's the team. I think I'd rather Hussey at 6 to Clarke, given how he's batted with the tail generally. A number 6 should be able to adapt between batting with the tail and other batsmen, and Hussey is brilliant in that regard.

That looks like a very formidable line up. They should definitely play 2 spinners in the tests but what about the ODIs?

My BD team fort the first test would be

Nafees Iqbal
Javed Omar
Habibul Bashar
Mohammad Ashraful
Shahrier Nafees
Aftab Ahmed
Khaled Mashud
Mohammad Rafique
Mashrafe Mortaza
Syed Rasel
Enamul Haque

Now if one of our openers fail I think they should definitely replace him with Rajin Saleh and the bowler with the worst figures should be replaced with Shahadat Hossain for the 2nd test.

I know Shahadat against Australia is very risky but I think he should be given a chance as this could be his only chance to play against some of the legendary players like Hayden, Martyn, Gilchrist and Langer if he was fit but Jaques will be quite a handful for sure.
