Four Bangladesh rep's in the Twenty20 squad and just the one in the ODI squad. It seems everybody has forgotten about Shahriar Nafees.
Not a big enough name though is he - looking at others that have made the squads...

He should be a bigger name than freakin Tamim Iqbal. Much better player, but doesn't get the credit he deserves.
TBH shots like he played this morning hardly help his cause. Bruce Yardley was singing the kids praises but still called it relatively earlier that his still woefully raw.

What a waste of time and effort this competition is... I bet you the Indian terrential rains washes away the millions of dollars being pumped into this series.

Everyone knows that in order for Africa to win, most of the players will have to come from South Africa... and as a South African fan, I hope that's not the case, because I would feel guilty leaving the Kenyans and Zimbabweans out!! But seriously, who would you pick to play for Africa?

Smith
De Villiers
Kallis
Gibbs
Boucher
Hall
Pollock
Nel
.................. and then seven from the other two countries....

I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GOLDEN OPPERTUNITY FOR SOUTH AFRICA TO SEND TWO OR THREE SPINNERS OVER TO INDIA TO DISCOVER A SPINNER...

SO... LEAVE OUT PLAYERS LIKE KALLIS, BOUCHER, NEL AND GIBBS, AND INCLUDE HARRIS, BOTHA AND ADAMS... LET THE FAST BOWLING OPTIONS COME FROM ZIMBABWE AND KENYA...

I thought so, just making a point that even out of the Bangladeshi players that Nafees is a bigger name than Tamim Iqbal.
I just think the Indian Crowd would rather see the kid who partially responsible for India's World Cup debacle.

Mortaza should of made ODI squad as well, could of taken yuvi's spot as the all-rounder. Aftab would have been fun in the 20/20 side as well.

I've only seen him bat a few times when he was out of form. He's scored a Test century against Australia though, so he can't be that bad. As an ODI player I'd far rather have him in my team than Tamim Iqbal.

The problem with SA providing the spinners is that would mean that arguably the best spinner in Africa - Hiren Varaiya gets left out.

As to a waste of time - it wouldn't be if the money actually trickled through to the development side as it is meant to. As yet, I believe Kenya (and I assume this means the others too) are yet to see any of it.

From a Kenyan point of view it is great as it gives our youngsters an incentive as they can see our top players being paid to play alongside some of the best in the World. I like the idea posted earlier about an intercontinental version of this - it would make more sense than some of the 7-match 2-country series played and would make a big difference to the Associates. I can see the Test sides not being overly keen though.

I think it was hilarious that Shoaib thought he should get in the team in the first place considering the amount of ODI cricket hes played (or rather not played) in the last year.

yh...not suprised he got dropped TBH...he needs to play a lot more cricket than he has. In general, we all know what shoaib can atually do on his day...but he is injury prone and gets into 'trouble'....im not a pakistani fan, but even then im a bit pissed off with his attitude.

.....

Akhtar is out so most likely Mortaza is going to get the nod almost automatically. The news of his inclusion is already spreading like ink a drop of ink in a cup of water all over Bangladesh.

I doubt many people actually hold it in high regard, but it's something to talk about.
