**Official** 5th Test at Sydney, 3-7 Jan 2025

That Virat has to play for "commercial" and "non-cricketing" reasons makes such a mockery of this Test. Aus must feel like they're beating up a differently-abled team. Pretty sure Marnus could snare Kohli outside off too if he had half a brain between those hobbit ears.

Also, pains me to say it but Kohli doesn't deserve to be dropped for the 5th Test. They should drop one of the players who hasn't made a ton in the series instead.

and who would that be? cant drop jaiswal and reddy.. they scored century.. kl wasnt able to but played some good innings.. so did sundar... gill didnt even got enough chances in this series to start with.. the only option looks like pant but if he gets dropped u will need jurel in the team

Rahul can keep. Pant is not needed. The two shots he played in the last test should be a droppable offence. Kohli's century was the worst of the series though, maybe trumped only by Smith's first century of the series where he had two "umpire calls" go his way.

I thought his bowling role was to deliver bouncers as the 'enforcer'?

India should play:

1-KL Rahul
2-Y Jaiswal
3-S Gill
4-V Kohli
5-R Pant
6-NK Reddy
7-R Jadeja
8-W Sundar
9-H Rana
10-Mo Siraj
11-Bumrah J

Prasidh is a terrible bowler. His crowning glory will be conceding 25 to lose the game for India vs Maxwell.

There are other contenders which is why I said arguably. Virat I can agree but he is too much of a chocker in big matches. AB is not even in the discussion - he did nothing in T20I and was a failure in important ODIs by and large.
i dont think choker is a word u can use for virat.. 2014 t20 wc semi potm... 70+ run in final.. 2016 a classic against aus in virtual qf and 80+ against wi in sf...2022 sf 50.. and 2024 final 76..got a 100 in 2023 sf and a 50 in final and 35+ cameo in 2011 final.. only matches he has failed in are odi wc sf's.. 9 in 2011 and 1 in 2015 and 2019

hes not playing that good post the accident. the accident was pretty bad, and hes not quite the same player anymore and hes no longer in his prime for an Indian player- hes 27 and probably with the body of a 32 year old due to the accident. Jurel is 23 and just starting.
He was by far India's best batsman against NZ and only Young did better than him on either side across the series

I am surprised that India is paying 3.65! Not that Australia wouldn't be big favorites, and maybe I'm being delusional, but I'm going to put down $50 on India here. 3.65 is just a bit harsh, I think.

It's a good bet. With Rohit out, India are obviously a better side this test than the previous ones. So, better chance to win.
