The issue isn’t so much with the ball that got Smith as it is with the two get out shots which preceded it. It’s not a pitch to give wickets away on be use you’ll cop a couple of decent ones in short order and neck minnit you’re 4/65

He walked across but it also decked into him a lot as it rose, it's much closer to him than I initially thought. Those are a nightmare to play. Could argue he shouldn't have advanced down the track but batsmen can't realistically leave a ball like that once they do.

Yeah I think the Smith one could've been avoidable with a better stance, but it wasn't an easy one to leave and definitely lifted. It's nowhere near as bad as the Konstas or Marnus wickets.

Head is average- will fail again here, leaving a massive task to the Tail. I believe he is only a 30-35 average batsman over the long term. Like Labuschagne, a good start to test cricket followed by mediocrity.

It's tough to get the balance right between that and JL-ism, but I think you need a hardarse to go with Cummins. I know people are calling it kneejerk, but the shots Marnus and Konstas in particular played were completely unnecessary.

We've been relying on Head and Marsh to bail us out the past two years, yet the top order never seem to get a message to knuckle down.

Yep they need to start some new players imo. this is not a big chase and stuff up is a shame. no bumrah. imagine with bumrah. poor selection by ind selectors not picking prasidh prior games, he was there in the squad the entire time. moves the ball, takes lots of wickets, and is a genuine front line for india next 5-6 years. Yes he bowls rubbish but lots of wicket taking balls is enough at this level.
