Woakes and Robinson both bowled a couple of slower ball bouncers, but didn't note the grip.

if root fires and gets some support from 2-3 players, this is definitely a reachable target...time is not a significant factor, neither is the pitch...

Time is definitely a bit of a factor. They’ll need to bat fairly positively.

let's say they end the day at 75 or 80 for no loss or maybe 1 wicket down, that gives them 280 odd runs to get in a full day's play...there is no pitch deterioration, no ashwin and of course root...i am not saying it will be a cakewalk or even that it will happen but saying england has no chance is a ridiculous assertion (not saying you said it but others have on here)...

England have effectively been set 331 runs to win now on a featherbed, with the bonus that both openers are set. This is as good as chance as England will get to beat their record test chase.

this is not that bad for a guy who has not bowled a lot in recent times

will only get better the more he bowls and when the effect of the roller wears off gradually

Suppose that could be genuine question. Look at the stats on cricinfo. If he makes any sort of contribution to the innings it strengthens England's chances. One meaningful contribution from anyone gives England a great chance, doesn't have to be Root.
