Nicking through the slips should be a legitimate scoring option for Englands opponents. Absolutely ****ing dire.
They can’t complain given the amount of runs they score through there themselves Tbf.

That should be taken at test level though

Just saw the drop. Can someone explain to me why there was only two slips kinda spread apart? I mean India are still in deficit right?
They only just took the other one out and put in a deeper bloke square on the off. I think they actually did it to entice the shot, so it actually worked perfectly save the mediocrity in the cordon

England really need-ed Archer for the Ashes. One of Stone or Wood has to play at least because the guys on display here are going to be up and down medium on those wickets without help from the weather.
Robinson looks good IMO. Robinson, Stone and Wood might do well in those conditions. And Wood looks way more dangerous than Archer IMO.

I think you’re right, unless they take three before lunch.

Woakes bowling beautifully though
Yeah it’s concerning for England how good Woakes has had to bowl just to almost create enough chances for one wicket.

He does look good but I think he’s a yard slow to properly excel here, though he might get some bounce which will help.

Fair enough. Still think they could take it from another position. Taking out the third slip is always taking a chance for a difficult drop or the ball finding the gap.

both bats have faced 100 balls

at what point are they going to start scoring against wide balls that are not doing anything ffs

Yeah he's good but even he isn't an out and out hit the wicket kind of bowler. Better than the others playing in this game but the ball sort of floats out from his hand. Which I suppose is what you need in Eng; remains to be seen if he can adjust to Aus wickets.

That stop from Pope feels vital. Reckon he'll go this over.

edit: Just like that. Surely he's nicked that?
