The period of time at the end of day matters a lot less than people think it does. Nice to have, but unless it's dark and cloudy, it's no substitute for actual runs

Only 4th innings score over 300 to win a Test at MCG was all the way back in 1928 when Eng scored 332/7. That side did have Jack Hobbs, Herb Sutcliffe and Wally Hammond in it though

Dunno, I think there’s a chance of a draw still. Not super likely but it’s hard to score 300 in a day, especially as either side can try to shut up shop if the other side is getting close.
