That was more Jaiswal's fault than Kohli, there may have been a run there but it was risky, why take the risk, it is Day 2 of a test match not a T20/ODI.
But the call had been made by the batter. Kohli's choice was either ensure that a wicket happens by refusing to run or see if he gets lucky, and then abuse Jaiswal if he survived

And a run out brings a wicket. That's one thing about a good test wicket - when your team picks up a wicket after they've been ground down you celebrate like its new years eve.

Kohli shouldn’t be looking at where the ball went for the run out. Losing eye contact with the striker when the ball is played in front of the wicket is poor technique.
