A masterclass in being gifted terrible wickets by terrible batsmenBumrah putting on a masterclass again, he gave Marsh a ball to hit for 4 and then he turned the screws on him.
Heh. Head is definitely the type to play two or three impactful innings rather than dominate a whole series. A bit problematic when other players aren't stepping up.My mate just reminded me of this message I sent him last week...
Yeah but he bowled some overs in like 7 of those testsMarsh now has 46 tests despite a batting average of 28.93
Other than the first two missed ramp shots, the big swings that he missed were earned because he'd already made a few runs and had pushed the catchers out.Nah I mean Konstas had a couple of wild heaves that he completely missed just like the Marsh one.
Great teamwork.Siraj with the strategic misfield to get Head on strike to Bumrah too.
TBF those two innings set up those matches. He's batting 5, he really shouldn't need to score runs every innings. It's just that Marnus has forgotten to crack on and Mitch Marsh has forgotten how to bat.Heh. Head is definitely the type to play two or three impactful innings rather than dominate a whole series. A bit problematic when other players aren't stepping up.
The main issue is that he's the only one scoring any in the team right now. Every batsman will have a bad innings or two and the others need to step up. They kind of have in this test so far but someone needs to go on and score a hundred. 4 half centuries is not enough.Heh. Head is definitely the type to play two or three impactful innings rather than dominate a whole series. A bit problematic when other players aren't stepping up.
And not insignificant heft and girth iircMyself, and if Magrat were still here I'd say Magrat.
I miss Harsh. He was graceful, of even hand and mind. Of sound judgement and tremendous gait.
Harsh on Head, he isn't terrible but it was a terrible leave.A masterclass in being gifted terrible wickets by terrible batsmen
Takes me back to the days when Sehwag mis-fielded by throwing a ball to boundary to keep Morkel on strike (2nd test, Kolkata, Ind vs SA 2010)Siraj with the strategic misfield to get Head on strike to Bumrah too.
Didn't we lose that?Takes me back to the days when Sehwag mis-fielded by throwing a ball to boundary to keep Morkel on strike (2nd test, Kolkata, Ind vs SA 2010)
We won that test! Remember the pressure on us to maintain the no. 1 ranking? LolDidn't we lose that?
And the WI pace sensation. Shamar Joseph. These the only two in the past decadeATG series by Bumrah regardless of the outcome of this series
Think only Steyn has been this devastating among overseas bowlers in Australia since the turn of the century
