**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

Cricketer Of The Year
IMO should have declared yesterday with a lead in the high 200s. Would have induced some more brain freezes from the Indian batsmen trying to go for it.
Giving India 3 and a bit sessions to chase 280 on a pitch that's been pretty good to bat on after the 35th over bar some inconsistent bounce would have been suicidal.

Lyon really dished up a lot of short, wide deliveries that session. Apart from one good over to Pant didn't really threaten at all.

Whatever it takes!!!
The other obvious explanation is of course his childs health is not so good @honestbharani
It kinda tells more about you than me that you think its a joke mate. I said it before because I thought it kinda added up at least in my head and then I posted that it was still baseless speculation on my part, so wont bring it up. But jeez, there is more to life than just seeming cool and raking likes on an internet forum.

Yeah this. Is it just me or has cricket gotten more defensive in the past few years.

A few years ago, the likes of Shane Warne would be criticising a late declaration like this, in commentary. Rightfully so, I think. A more confident team really should've dangled the carrot. Both teams lack confidence

The Wheel is Forever
The forecast is the clearest it's been for years. But the pitch is likely to be very similar to this one, if not slower.
Yeah for sure, and with the bowling vs batting balance, there’s certainly every chance for a result. But if it’s like it usually is, a few guys may be able to make big scores.

No this is silly and just a matter of self righteousness. No one declares with such a gettable target. The longer time for a lower target would actually mean the batsmen would have to take fewer risks to score than a higher target.

International Regular
The fact Cummins gave the over right after tea to Head instead of himself and Starc confirms to me that he is the singleworst captain to ever play Cricket
