I mean one guy is. Not the attack as a whole.
Deep is also getting a fair bit more than what the Australians were getting IMO.

Whether the rest of them can back it up is another question. But while the first three days it felt like the only way the batsman was getting out was making a mistake, this feels much tougher despite the deck looking rather flat.

Konstas has been built up as a new superstar so no way Australian cricket will reverse course, but of course every international attack will be working overtime to work him out & then you add in his high risk approach which will fail as often as it comes off.

That dismissal was always the worry for those of us who'd watched Konstas a bit before. Very Herschelle Gibbs esque technique when he's not ramp memeing.

Problem is a lot of it looks cool but not hitting the stumps enough.

Konstas has done enough tbh. He knew he had to do something different to reserve his spot and that first innings will carry him for the next few games.

As long as these two can survive the new ball I am optimistic this could be smooth sailing.

But I'm really not confident, this is by far the best bowling we've seen this Test and makes me worried that the pitch might've gotten spicier.

I mean I don't think it was wise to fire the great man up by saying he hoped he came back on.
Ehh it's more that anyone who has watched him either in age group stuff or his few Shield games knew that the ball coming back in was a weakness to him, but most of the people most loudly advocating for him to be picked hadn't seen any of that. Now that they have, the very same sorts who said he was the greatest thing since sliced bread a couple of days back will be calling for him go be binned now

I just hate people who are overly impulsive with these sort of things

How do you ‘tighten up’ while part of your mindset is ramping good deliveries in the opening overs? That’ll be hard to reconcile.
He's talking about his technique, not his shot selection. He played a forward defence to that one, and it's been well established his defensive game to the ball moving in isn't really good enough yet. Putting his shot selection aside he does need to work on his defensive technique.

Yeah it was definitely wrong to extrapolate from one successful innings that Konstas is a good player. It is definitely correct to extrapolate from one unsuccessful innings that Konstas is a terrible player.
just overhyped is the word at this stage. i think thats fair now.
