**Official** 4th Test at Melbourne, 26-30 Dec 2024

King Kane

International Regular
A momentum swinging partnership here, India are still behind but they are getting back into it, if they can get this lead to less than 100 it's game on.

He seems to actually have a side injury now too rather than just being a bit spent, which makes gambling on Jhye or Bartlett much more appealing.
One thing is that no matter what happens, anything short of a big match-winning/saving knock from Marsh should see him dropped.

At this stage, hoping to reach WTC final is counter-productive because if by some chance we do, Rohit and Kohli will play anyway so there's no point anymore. Would be happy to watch the youngsters grow in stature and that should be enough to push the seniors out of the squad

Washington certainly isn't a 8, that's for sure
Even putting aside the fact that he's technically at 9 because of the nightwatchman, they've managed to bat him at 8 and still have six bowlers.

Now I didn't support this balance and I still don't really - as much as I like Reddy and Washy's batting, Gill's is better - but it does show the value of these kind of players.
