As an aside, Warner is playing in the bbl
tonight, and even though he’s a has been, it will still be better watching him bat than hear him commentate.

has anyone done a full time comms gig and played a televised game the same season before? Copeland maybe? Can’t think of any others

Ultimately for all my rageposting there's probably three bigger reasons why the match will end in a draw:

1. Rain
2. Marsh and Hazlewood being picked despite not being 100%
3. Smith drop

Could also argue the way Australia batted the morning of Day 3 has a case too.
You were quite civil, Spark just shooting blood out his urethra into your beautiful eyes to satisfy his own smug aura.

That being said, cnerd and Paul Lennon's posts have ruined this thread.

Warney, maybe? Not sure when Slater started commentating but he might've done so too.

Actually Hussey and Lee were still playing BBL when they started commentating. Flintoff did for one season too.

Did KP start on comms after his BBL career was over? His comms era was truly brutal.

Cheers. As I said, no one has done it before 👀

he's not wrong. Sydney is lovely.

Shame all the Indians there will be watching their team get smoked by 500 runs.
naah aus ain't that good. in perth the indian top order killed the new ball so mo could cash in. in adelaide, gabba aus top order did. red ball does nothing in aus after 30 overs.

mcg/scg more favorable to india and now india will be able to play ashwin-jadeja who were crucial last time in both these places.

Oh yeah, he was still playing cricket when he started out.

On a semi-related note, there seemed to be way more big names in the BBL a few years ago then now. There's obviously multiple causes for it (longer tournament, big names retirees perhaps being less high profile, more T20 comps), but it is interesting and has turned the tournament into a meme one lol

Ashes? Would help to have his swing & raw pace vs tail enders right now.
The bloke almost injured himself giving a high five, we're a long way from talking about him being Test match ready again

I maintain the Channel 10 years even in the comms were peak BBL until it all got mangled from the Seven / Fox split.

Meanwhile Kayo isn't working, I have to tune into 7 and i'm met by Matthew Hayden compensating for his flat scalp with a big ridiculous akubra.

So Australia needs to take last wkt in 1st over tomorrow for a 190 lead, bat 25 overs to get lead to 300, then bowl India out in 60 overs....should be an exciting day (except for rain)
