**Official** 3rd Test @Brisbane (Ewwwww), 14th-18th December

Last 3 days of this test also NOT promising. A few sessions may be lost to rain.

Only Tomorrow will have proper play, and the 5th day - Wednesday where it says only 50% chance.

So overall maybe 2.5-3 days to force a result, which is still possible given both teams weak batting.

Every day of the test except tomorrow is currently predicted to have up to 15mm rainfall. Tomorrow is just a shower or two apparently.

Yep, its a bit tropical type weather though. still think around 3 days of play allowing for stoppages. Pitch looks a little slow, no wickets in 13 overs. Bowlers and Bumrah, can be blocked and then try on the innocuous medium pace of Reddy...

Fun fact: only 2 visiting teams have won at the Gabba after winning the toss and bowling. That would be 40 years ago with the mighty 1984 Windies pace quartet and that 1985 Hadlee destruction series for NZ

Does India have the bowling attack to do the same?
Well no one's elected to do this in the past 26 years and the last time India did this (in 2003) they drew the match, so not sure how relevant that stat is.

In the same period (since 1984), only 6 tests have been won by away teams at the Gabba, 4 of which were when batting second. If you add draws to this, it becomes 9 out of 13 tests won/drawn by the away team batting second. Not that this is necessarily any more relevant.

Yet another example of the desperate need to strip the 2032 olympics from brisbane
It rained during the Paris Olympics opening ceremony but at least they just got on with it unlike the cricket in Brisbane today.

There should be an indoor test cricket venue with a roof built between Brisbane and Sydney like Coffs Harbour to play their tests there if it rains.

And Stumps. Next 4 days start 30 minutes early with 98 overs per day. Not going to happen of course with all the rain forecast

Coffs harbour is probably the wettest joint on the east coast south of the tropics. But there’s always a lot of meth available at least

Pity it wasn't a pink ball test. Radar says it's clear now (and forecast shows clear every night)

Strange in this day and age given the billions of audience, there is no indoor venues. it is still cricket, not indoor cricket if the roof is there from a high point just like Aus open is classified as an outdoor court.

A cricket oval is a lot bigger than a tennis court. Much harder to cover a cricket ground/spectators as opposed to a tennis stadium

Is there a reason why they don't play at the GABBA first, then Adelaide, then the WACA? It seems the earlier the Brisbane test, the less chance there'll be serious rain

That's how they did it for the first 80 odd years having the first test of the summer at the Gabba in Nov...then last 10 years CA decided on later tests in Dec/Jan

Everyone that lives there knows Dec-Feb are the 3 rainiest months. November was nearly always perfect
