Lemme guess - the bog-standard indeterminant prod from Bell which safely finds its way to the keeper? Give me strength ...

Though saying that Brett Lee would have to bowl a ball which would hit the stumps so outside off, faint touch from Collingwood.

nah not on this wicket - caught behind or on the pull
Was going by that route because ‘every time’ Collingwood has played on a wicket with pace his usually been trapped LBW.

Can see Lee getting Collingwood, Pietersen and Flintoff on this wicket, so yeah a michelle is a possibility
If he does, he'll probably get rogered by Adam Gilchrist halfway to the dressing rooms, as always

This was people advocating before he'd played, based on his runs scored, and they'd not seen him keep.
well yea Prior did score runs & jumped up to second choice behind Jones at the end of 2004, but he looked totally out of his depth, just as Jones & Read have done for the most part of their careers except for the odd top performance.

A interesitng point to note with the likes of Jones, Read, Prior & Foster is that since the 2003 season when Alec Stewart retired all of these men have averaged more that 40+ for their counties in almost every season:

Prior:

1. 2006 - 46
2. 2005 - 32
3. 2004 - 46
4. 2003 - 47

Foster:

1. 2006 - 48
2. 2005 - 36
3. 2004 - 46
4. 2003 - 26

Read:

1. 2006 - 58
2. 2005 - 44
3. 2004 - 50
4. 2003 - 30

In most countries if you have a keepers averaging in the 40's in most season you would think you are going well, but its clearly not the case with England. Thats why i seriously think Pothas could be the man because in this same post ``Alec Stewart Period`` (narrowing it down to the Warne's time is skipper 2004-2006 which is coincidentally around the same period when Pothas really began to fire with the willow), his averages range from 39, 51 & 64, which is brilliant especially over the last two seasons & once he can start next seaon in similar form, he must be picked AFAIC.

No, the point is, we need a keeper is at least capable with the gloves (which Jones wasn't when he debuted)
Why should England just settle for a keeper who is just capable with the gloves, pay no attention to what he does with the bat, when there is so much quality in the batting & bowling?.
