Yes you've repeated it now - but not what you'd said earlier.

The problem is a keeper cannot be recommended based on runs scored - the number of people who've suggested Matt Prior for the England role is considerable bearing in mind that every report I've heard of his keeping is that it makes the debuting Geraint look like Jack Russell in his prime.
well we all have seen Prior on the international stage & know he's not good enough, so that aint an issue. The fact is England need a keeper who can score runs consistently & if you have a bloke like Pothas who averaged in the top 5 in the CC this year for batsmen, thats should be enough to get the nod over Jones or Read who for the odd flash of brilliance have been extremely mediocre.

Interesting fact. The only other time Hussey has batted at 4 for Aussie was in a one-day against South Africa in Jo'berg back in March. He scored 81. (I got that from Cricinfo Stats Guru. I'm such a geek!)
67* in the 2nd test?

as Jones drops Hussey.... this guys a legend i tell ya :)

Marc speaks the truth. Unless you're speaking of Gilchrist like batting ability, you can't pick based on that. And if you have someone like Gilchrist, he would make it in as a specialist batsman anyway, and if he can keep at a decent level for you, thats just a plus.

Otherwise, all you want is someone who isn't a total mug with the bat. Totally ridiculous to forego a better keeper because he averages 4-5 less (and on form, averages more).
I'm not saying Pothas is Gilchrist like with the bat, but his recent form with the bat shows that he's right up with the best batsmen in the England. I say it again England need a KEEPER THAT CAN SCORE RUNS CONSISTENTLY, Jones & Read aren't giving them that & why should England settle for such mediocrity when they have so much quality in other areas?

If they don't between now & the end of the World Cup, Pothas should take it up (presuming he keeps up his recent form), until hopefully (as i've mentioned before) Steve Davies likes up to the hype.

Hayden should be axed.
nah i'll give him until the end of the series, unlike in 2005 where he didn't look confident or like he wasn't going to score a run at all, this time around he looks confident just not getting the rewards as yet.

Wasn't Jones scoring at a similar rate to Pothas a couple seasons ago in CC? My guess is Pothas will be found out in Test Cricket just like Jones.

wow, it seems England have been biding their time so they can bowl garbage as soon as i get up. Looking v comfortable for the batsmen right now, singles all over the place.

Clarke & Hussey do deserve credit for the way they've batted as well.

nah not even close, when Jones first got a call up for winter tours in 2003 his averaged 44 for the season, compared Pothas who averaged 64 this year and in fact over 50 in almost every season since he came over here.

see my post 2 above that one.

Hussey playing well is a given, but the bowling isn't even challenging them at the moment

Ahh didn't see that sorry.

The bowling in the last half hour has definelty not been up to scratch as you say though. Perhaps it's time to get Freddie back in, and give Saj a run?

Pretty poor stuff from Clarke there, just after he was looking really good. Symonds playing for his career here.

Age is just a number yo, Stewart played almost to 41, once you can perform consistently at the highest level you should play.

Geez Harmy hit 150, Hurricane Harmison is back..

Very nice to see Giles genuinely happy there when Monty took his wicket.

Top shot from Hussey there. Symonds looking shaky.
