idk does Edgbaston usually flatten out like Lord's does after the first day? If it is genuinely a bowling pitch throughout then won't the par score also be lower?

Jeez you'd be hoping so. Another day 1 like Lord's and you can virtually kiss the Ashes goodbye remembering a drawn series is no good to England. Not saying it's impossible from 1-2 down, but it'd be some ask.
