That's unreasonable behaviour - not to mention downright cruel
Tell me about it. TBF to her, I had an hour between the two to watch... the 06/07 highlights.

Thankfully the dinner break gave me enough time to put the kids to bed.

Tomorrow night is Sunday night board games and I think wifey wants to play A Feast For Odin so I'll only have the cricket on in the background then but I should catch the first two sessions tomorrow.

Adelaide Oval being a road is a meme these days, ever since they dug up the deck. Two scores of 400+ in the past 3 seasons in Shield cricket. There’s always some nibble around these days, anyone honestly believe a short medium pacer would utterly dominate for his state on the Adelaide of old?

It seems like the drop-in hasn't really "settled" yet, it has that MCG feel of the batsman never really feeling in despite the deck superficially looking easy to bat on.

What's with all the advertising boards being epillespy inducing.
Cheap low refresh rate lights to fill a lot of area. Note that they're flickering on the super slow-mo camera, which is 1000 fps. The board lights are probably 60-100 Hz. Even top quality monitors are only 200hz so they'd still flicker.

I call mine 'Little Percy' mate. Calling it 'Odin' puts a hell of a lot of pressure on yourself to produce the goods.

200Hz monitors around the whole stadium would probably cost about as much as the stadium itself

Yeah its not a 500 Vs 500 in the first innings standard these days.

Always wondered how Sayers dominated despite his lack of speed. I just assumed that shield batsmen were garbage, given the state of our national team.

The stands have totally changed the wind effect too. River End used to be the quick one but even then was straight down the deck. Now there’s really useful wind to the west, especially late in the day as it comes over the Adelaide hills and sorta ‘swirls’. The scoreboard end is the quick one now and River end is the one the swing bowlers operate from.

Only had the chance to watch the last hour. Not particularly impressed with the bowling. At least Aus haven't got away and if we bowl better tomorrow there's a chance of staying in the game.

The other alternative is Twilight Struggle. Or maybe she'd enjoy 7 Wonders Duel or Lords of Waterdeep. I don't have Dominion: Intrigue, Paths of Glory, Steam or Captain Sonar but perhaps she'll settle for Race for the Galaxy.

It's entirely possible that board game designers are prone to Freudian issues.

“RECORD ATTENDANCE”

...

“Australian cricket thanks you for your support”

Might want to adjust the video template for when there’s a record crowd...
