I actually liked the slow strike by Malan. I couldn't care what Ponting and Vaughan think of it. Too many English batsmen have played this Ashes like it is a Twenty20 Blast derby.

Pessimism is dumb when the bowling side is still creating a heap of chances. Barely an over goes by when there's an inside edge just missing or a catch going just wide. Aussies still massive favourites.
