That new ball huh. NZ would like to have time for a decent burst with the second new ball themselves if England bat well - throwing the bat for another 20-30 runs here would really help with that.
If England score at 3rpo they'll need 37 more when the second new ball arrives.

It's a big chase for the 4th innings at Lords, Gordon Greenidge notwithstanding. Not that the 4th innings usually starts before lunch on day three.

So my prediction is we will break this partnership just before close, run through the others in about an hour tomorrow and be left chasing about 280.

And as is so often the case…if Root puts an innings on then we have half a chance but…
Hmmm not my worst prediction ever tbf

I think they'll look to score and put some pressure back even if they lose a wicket or two I think.

Anderson and Broad, the do perform when under the pump. Champions. England trying to get rid of them than fixing the batting which is where their problem is.

That was disgraceful and we will lose and we’ll all feel sad and the players will continue going about their lives because that is our pathetic fate as fans
Go easy dude, with that many runs our boys are clear favorites particularly with England not having had a reasonably settled line up in the recent months.

Yes we were rubbish today and also careless but England were good with the new ball.

Well we really should have got more than that. Gives England a definite sniff, while we should be favourites from here the pitch doesn't look to have many demons in it, you'd expect it to be pretty flat on day 3 and into 4.

I still remember the Lord's test of 2004. I thought Vettori would spin us to victory and England scored 282/3 to win easily (100 for Nasser and runs for Strauss and Thorpe).
