**Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

The comms on Fox talking about Zampa as an option for the SL series. Doesn’t really tune his leg break but bowls a pace which I could see working there if he actually played a few Shield games and went ok

Does Zampa have any interest in test cricket anymore?

Probably China and swimming is not the best example; but absolutely there is zero doubt that the GDP growth is very much tied to improvement in access. People don't realize that for a significant portion of Indian history, cricket players basically came from the upper classes in Mumbai. As more and more people are moved into the middle and upper middle class; and more importantly the proliferation of equipment, coaching and access further and further out in India - this is changing. But even now, the access is nowhere near it is in other developed countries.
Naah swimming is a good example. China had 3rd most medals this Olympics after USA and Australia. Think they will be no 2 in 20 years.

India will keep improving in cricket as India keep getting richer. The earliest Indian players were literally royals. Now lots of guys are coming from smaller towns/villages.

It's tough as I don't think Australia's done a lot wrong with the ball here - maybe they've erred a bit too short, I guess Cummins has been a bit off - but are still 1/250 and haven't created many other opportunities. Says a lot about how well the Indians have batted and how flat this looks now.

Makes sense that India got blanked 3 zip at home when they are the richest ever with the highest population.
Aberrations are there. That was due to conditions/aging team etc.

But you cannot deny trendlines.

Also you are trying to be smarmy here, but your example lends credence to your theory.

India are not the richest ever. They have the lowest pci amongst teams except Pak and Bang.

NZ, being a first world country with a small population are able to defeat India simply cause they have systems etc. Heck, being a first world country means people will immigrate there - hence Ajaz, Rachin etc.

I would say India should aim to bat so maybe they can bowl 10 overs tonight at Australia? Or go further and wait until close to lunch tomorrow?

If they can obviously.

Most of all, the end of vegetarianism has allowed fast bowlers to develop

Nah, I reckon just grind them into the dust. Declare overnight at the earliest.
If they are still batting at or at least near the end of play, probably the lead should be around 450ish at that point. So at that point, I don't think you really need many runs.

Yep, no reason to consider declaring before tomorrow morning. Ideal scenario is score 300 today, and then slog another hundred in the first hour tomorrow before declaring.
