Australia finally paying the price of not giving a chance to young seamers
The trio have played all 3 formats with little rest.
Cummins's test bowling has declined as a result of the toll captaining in odis has taken on him.

They need to blood in Fergus O'Neill this series.
@ ausfans who are young procspets to replace big 3

Whatever it takes!!!
They have to bat normally and look to bat as long as possible... Even into Monday if it is possible. The problem is this batting line up is just not good enough and neither is this bowling line up outside of Bumrah, given how flat the pitch now is.

It really depends on whether the low bounce we say and some of the cracks having a slight impact - if that increases as the game goes on, then India will have an ally in the pitch which this bowling attack will badly need. If not, Australia should actually fancy chasing down any target, even 400.

i kind of thought aus might really be in the game if the pitch still had a fair bit of venom today and the great flattening and baking started out on day three, however jaiswal and rahul have made sure that pendulum swings firmly in the favour of india now. jaiswal's great to watch and i can't say enough just how good it is to watch an inform bumrah

The change of conditions from day one to day two were some of the craziest I've ever seen.
If conditions continue to be good for batting tomorrow only to eventually go bad again on the last 2 days then Australia are in insurmountable strife.
From this point on wouldn't be surprised at all to see India winning by 300++

I wonder how many times the opening partnership in innings 3 has outscored each individual team total in the first two innings. Possibly in the days of uncovered wickets with Hobbs and Sutcliffe batting in innings 3 but it must be vanishingly rare.

If it weren't for Bumrah, I think this game could be a candidate for the first successful 500+ chase...

agreed, Australia should deffo be looking at changes to the bowling attack for the rest of the series. this is why they are where they are .
Starc averaged 40 last time India were in Australia and 34 in the 2018 BGT.
He is a massive threat to most teams, but for some reason has always struggled against vs India underperforming 2 home series in a row.
Probably the only left armer India like facing.
He is older now and more prone to fatigue, Aus should rest him for a test or two

Narrator - They don't

Cummins is probably the biggest disappointment. He was great as usual up until the half way point last ashes but has not been very threatening since

That’s the best opening partnership in SENA we’ve had since the 100+ ones Rohit and KL put on in England 2021. In fact this is probably better.

I’m actually in disbelief tbh. When we were bowled out for 150 it felt like business as usual. The bowling performance was incredible but still relatable. This opening stand just feels so foreign.

It’s particularly good because Aus still have to come out and bowl again for the 3rd time in 3 days. Unfortunately there’s a massive gap between the first and second tests so they’ll have had time to recover.

I can't believe it that Australia was bowled out for 104 with the top 6 making only 37 runs between them, but people are calling for a change of bowlers...

Pity there are no shield bats knocking the door down but Head, Marsh, Labuschagne and Smith should be put on notice (in that order)

Don't think anyone is saying that the bowlers should be dropped, just managed better across big series. This is definitely still the best attack.
