I mean it was definitely not the case in the noughties. Maybe my definition of recent covers the last 10 years.i'm really confused because i was under the impression this had been the case for years and years
Seemed a fair call to me - hard to say if bat hit solely pad or if it grazed bat whilst bat was lodged in pad. With it being all so close ultra edge was never gonna help either but given it was given as out in field not sure there is evidence to say the umpire was definetly wrong and the call should be overturned. One of those Bess will probably and understandably feel hard done by but the right call for meIt hit the bat. How was that given out, Strangely it's not been mentioned by the bias commentators
it wasnt out. Clearly there was bat involvedwhat
The bat was jammed behind the pad. He was unlucky that his bat got stuck behind the pad but that was obviously out.Seemed a fair call to me - hard to say if bat hit solely pad or if it grazed bat whilst bat was lodged in pad. it... hit the pad first? like i thought that was pretty obviousit wasnt out. Clearly there was bat involved
Whatever the reason it certainly wasnt plumbCoz it hit the pad first and the bat was stuck behind the pad. That was a plumb decision and rightly given out.
after it hit the padClearly there was bat involved
It was.Whatever the reason it certainly wasnt plumb
i think the idea is that the fact that it hit the bat at all is sufficient "doubt" to rule it not out? but, uh, that's not how the drs works. or indeed how the lbw law works. It was.
Fair point. It's been strange tactics from England the whole Test really. This has been the case the ENTIRE match.
No I mean, if the umpire could see live that the bat did get stuck behind the pad, it is very much a simple decision.i think the idea is that the fact that it hit the bat at all is sufficient "doubt" to rule it not out? but, uh, that's not how the drs works. or indeed how the lbw law works.
