I'm astonished that the bowler didn't spot it.I know he's in his 70s and all, but Sunny's eyes have properly gone.
Pope clearly smashed it.

Leg spin's a different challenge, isn't it.Pope has looked a lot better against spin here than he did at home against Pakistan. I'm not sure if he's improved or if his struggles were more just about not picking Yasir out of the hand.
Especially as I think Rabada would've destroyed Australia had they gone to SAThis is all working out beautifully for Australia as far as the Test Championship is concerned.
A draw here helps us much more than a win to either side.
Two in the same innings iirc. And possibly at the same ground as Root's effort?First English player in over 35 years to score a double century in India.
Closest I think is Sangakkara who scored 200, 222, 192, 152 in consecutive tests. In the other innings of those same games he got 57 and 92I know it's irrelevant that the freak runout in SL has deprived him of 200s in three consecutive tests, but has anyone ever done that?
So in other words it took a horrible umpiring decision at Hobart to rob Sangakkara of that feat & a freakish run-out to deprive Root of his.Closest I think is Sangakkara who scored 200, 222, 192, 152 in consecutive tests. In the other innings of those same games he got 57 and 92
That 192 was in Hobart and he got a shocking decision, given out caught after the ball came off his shoulder, onto his helmet and caught at gully, he was livid.Closest I think is Sangakkara who scored 200, 222, 192, 152 in consecutive tests. In the other innings of those same games he got 57 and 92
I'll give you Wally Hammond in 1928/29; 200, 251 and 177. In the third match, he also made an unbeaten 119.Closest I think is Sangakkara who scored 200, 222, 192, 152 in consecutive tests. In the other innings of those same games he got 57 and 92
