Terrible collapse for England here. Threw away a great position.

Australia probably needs to knuckle down given the slowness of the wicket, I can just see us falling into a lolapse.

I can see Smith going big. I also see me growing increasing frustrated about how someone with a technique like he has prosthetic limbs is able to score so many runs :(

Love to be pretty bad and end up with a series average of 25.75.

Especially as Anderson averaged 27.50, Starc 30.50 and Johnson 39.10
He was genuinely not very good though. I guess it's a sign of a great bowler that even when he bowls meh his figures look fine.

Massive wasted opportunity for England considering the pitch was flat and slowish, Australia did not bowl well with either new ball and Hazlewood looked especially listless (not playing the final Shield game seems an error).

England just let the game drift too often, 8 overs for 5 runs this morning is asking for trouble.

Lyon was outstanding though; his tours of Asia this year have given him new confidence and he's never bowled better.

400 would have been ideal but England still have the runs on the board and now Australia have to prove themselves against Anderson and Moeen on a turner.

Looking forward to this arvo.

Can't expect Jimmy to get more out of this pitch than Hazlewood did. Moeen otoh will be interesting. If I was Root, I'd introduce him into the attack before Woakes.

Gnske proposing to his missus in the pool at the Gabba is the most brisbane thing I’ve ever seen.
