meh, i still maintain it was my only chance of winning. i often prioritise limply but safely finishing my teams trying to avoid having passengers rather than being ATG heavy and i almost never win so I thought I'd try the Red HIll method this time

also you stole Gilchrist from me ****

You have also pegged it back pretty well and if nobody had followed you would have been able to take your pick of the best players of all time.

Some of you are going to end up with 2 meme players

I would've jumped the gun and taken Hussey if someone else hadn't to annoy mister lol

I will do the test version of this on that format but I reckon we should add on a couple off restrictions such as country wise or date wise

Yeah I think we should at least be wanting to avoid the early years at least. Want Bradman as an option though.

Definitely keep Bradman in the test format as some people suggested, and a minimum test match criteria (so no Andy Gantaume).

Why country or date? I think going in order of averages is good enough.

To limit the pool and eliminate those early era players. 1920-2020 with a minimum of 10 games imo. 2 per country is maybe too restrictive so let's scrap that.

...here we go again
Teams with poor bowling (a bunch of pie chuckers to fudge over 10 overs and a merely OK bowler to cover another 10 overs) don't usually win my vote. You may or may not agree with that philosophy.

In hindsight, one additional rule I should have introduced was making it mandatory for drafters to pick their keeper by Round 6 (and stick with him as the keeper of your side). That way a base would have been set for the team before anyone decided to go berserk.

Another rule that comes to mind is probably restricting drafters to pick just one batsman who averaged 47+ or maybe setting a limit for total team average. But then there have been many drafts with a fixed set of total batting average that you cannot exceed. Maybe the, only one 47+ batsman, would have worked and made the draft more sane. Having said that the winner could be a drafter who has no ATG batsman in his team.

I got the impression a few pages back that PEWS had influenced this opinon of yours but he wasnt referring to drafts so...
