NZ domestic season 2023/24

Is Logan van Beek the domestic veteran most unlucky not to have played for NZ? Feel he's the sort of guy you'd expect would at least jag a T20 somewhere.

Robinson's come back down to earth with a bit of a thud since that big ton. He definitely has something, but IMO it was way too early to be talking about higher honours.

Hasn't he taken flight for Netherlands?
Netherlands is an associate nation, so NZ are free to pick him anytime I think. Same happened for Michael Rippon - he played for the Netherlands when they toured NZ in 2022 and then played a couple of games for NZ later that year.

Hasn't kicked on, but has been getting some reasonable starts at least:

30 not out off 16 v Otago
TB Robinson c Raval b Wagner 20 off 11
TB Robinson c Harrison b Lister 21 off 14
TB Robinson c Patel b Small 2 off 8.

Uh oh I wasn't even caring about the wickets having written the game off as a win. Oopsie doops, at least van Beek / Smith is a very good 7/8 combo.

Epic innings from Abbas. It's actually a stupid idea but for some reason during his innings it just popped into my head that he should have a run as T20I opener

On the player mic Abbas confirmed to Elliot he is still working on his left arm seamers and could be called upon to bowl in the Super Smash.

Interesting as I was wondering if Abbas still bowled (vaguely recall someone posting footage of him bowling left arm pace at an age-group tournament on here a few years ago).

Yeah, that is a stupid idea.

Any monkey can thrash wildly in a power play and bosh a few boundaries.

His (current) middle order role inT20s most resembles transferable skills for all 3 formats. Which is important for a 20 year old.
