sehwag isn't as consistent as ponting or tendulker, but then again, this poll isn't about consistancy
Ponting also wasn't consistent in his early years. He used to face stiff competition from Blewett . It's only in the last 2-3 years that he has really turned it on.

Of course - crap and boring. He showed that clearly in the World Cup final...

To watch a batsman play, and that to entertain me, his performance has to have some significant outcome. I cannot be 'entertained' by a batsman if he's smashing my favorite team around. But I can be entertained by him if he's smashing FOR my favorite team.

Unfortunately, this leaves us with a moot point, and so Tendulkar is the automatic choice :D

As someone already stated everyone in their own way is entertaining, be it a techincally correct top order batsman like Lara and Co, or a tailender trying to smash every ball into next week!

However I think Gilly has combined both well and for that reason he gets the nod from me.

However can't forget D Gough a few years back being highly enjoyable to watch while batting, seems to have calmed it down alot now and actually tries to bat :D

course hes been a 'flop.' always has been, always will be.
But people conveniently forget that Afridi is a very good bowler, and an awesome fielder... better than many other specialist bowlers to have played 100 ODI's in my opinion...

i didn't forget anything. i don't think afridi is a good bowler, and with his standard of batting, certainly isn't good enough to cement his place in the side.

Went for Walsh though Malcolm and Gough (what about Simon Jones!) deserve a mention. Of proper batsman obviously they all entertain and for the last 15 months I would say Vaughan has entertained the most with a ridiculous 7 test centuries in that period.

He is Engliah so obvously he see's alot of Vaughan and I cant argue Vaughan is great to watch or though I personaly perfer to watch Ponting as well.

Actualy I beleve he has scored 8 in that period with only Ricky Ponting 8 in his last 24 innings equaling him.
